BRIDGETOWN - BARBADOS, June 7, 2022 - The Inaugural Upturn Funds Caribbean Investment Summit is a first of its kind event focusing on attracting and promoting investment opportunities centered around Maritime Transportation, Agriculture, Infrastructure Development, Mining, Green Energy and Real Estate, for the economic development of the Caribbean region.
This high-profile event is being led and hosted by Upturn Funds, a New York-based, venture capital firm, and Barbados-based, Leadership Axehead Consulting. The Summit is a leadership and investment solutions event where government, private sector, investment, and global leaders present tailor-made solutions for the socio-economic development needs of the Caribbean, with a focus on social value and advancement of human capital.
The Summit will feature an address by the Ranking Member of the US House of Representatives, Congressman Mark Green, M.D. the co-author and sponsor of the bipartisan Western Hemisphere Nearshoring Act that speaks to the promotion of manufacturing opportunities for economic growth within Central, South America and the Caribbean. The Summit will also feature strategic investments, presentations from other high-profile international experts, presentations from key public officials, Chief Executive Officers, policy makers and other movers and shakers within the featured sectors. The Summit will be delivered in a hybrid virtual and face-to-face setting allowing delegates the advantage of an in-person networking among investors, government officials and other key economic representatives.
The summit will seek to make a significant impact on the investment climate in the Caribbean bringing together business investors from the United States of America, Canada, Brazil, Central America, the Caribbean, Europe, and the Middle East. In addition, the Summit will also feature exhibitions of corporate entities of which attendees will learn about the highlighted sectors, and where opportunity for meaningful connection across investment stakeholders can be realized.

The Caribbean Investment Summit will be an annual summit and will be hosted in key regional countries specific to the country’s key economic activity and resources to help strengthen the economic capacity and improve the economic climate across the Caribbean. It is slated to take place August 25th – 27th at the Hilton Barbados Resort.
